Social Security Disability Insurance Lawyers

Social Security disability benefits are not a government handout. Social Security is a mandatory insurance program run by the government to which people may apply when they meet the criteria to receive SSDI (Social Security Disability Insurance) benefits. If you have had a Social Security disability (SSD) claim denied, contact Bailey, Javins & Carter, L.C. to schedule a free initial consultation.

Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) is intended to replace lost wages for people who are no longer able to work and earn a living as they once did because of an illness, injury or condition that renders them disabled for 12 months or longer. The illness, injury or condition may or may not be the result of a work injury. Supplemental Security Insurance (SSI) is another possible source of assistance for some disabled workers who meet certain income requirements.

Disability May Result From a Work Injury or a Natural Illness or Condition

Whether because of a work accident or because of a natural occurrence of cancer or crippling arthritis, a worker who has paid into Social Security over time may be eligible for benefits when a disability makes it impossible to work as before.

Sources of Help for Injured Workers

Workers’ compensation, Social Security disability (SSD), Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and personal injury claims are all potential sources of relief for employees who cannot work because of a disability. The first step in exploring all available options for help is to request a free initial consultation with a lawyer who is experienced in helping disabled employees obtain maximum compensation.

We work on a contingency basis. We don’t get paid unless you do.
